Our role

Appointed by Mission Street, Ashfold’s role on this project was to chart the early development stages and oversee the appointment of the professional team.

Project details

NRAP, commissioned by Kadans Science Partner, will convert this 1980s warehouse formerly occupied by GlaxoSmithKline into offices and laboratories for start-up, scale-up and mature companies in the Stevenage life science sector.

A vibrant new frontage will immediately uplift and update the existing warehouse, while internal space will be reconfigured to provide laboratories, offices and communal meeting rooms. Opportunities for socialisation and co-working will be encouraged through the inclusion of a variety of breakout spaces with winter gardens to provide light and greenery.

The offices and labs are imagined as pavilions that are separate elements to the main building, and will be painted a bright colour to provide a contrast with the existing steel structure.
