Our role

Ashfold was approached by Argent’s director in June 2018 to provide assistance with the ongoing maintenance project. The main purpose of Ashfold’s role was to help Argent create tender documents to issue to the incumbent building operating team. Ashfold were therefore responsible for assisting with problem-solving in areas such as logistics and project management.

Project details

Two years ago, Argent completed a T1 residential building which included the energy centre for the entire King’s Cross master plan area. The main boilers had developed operational issues which this project aimed to address.

Work was carried out by the incumbent building operating team who installed attenuators to the three-tenant megawatt boilers in the basement energy centre. This project was challenging due to the building remaining live during the process. Contractors also had limited access, with other buildings and projects located near the work including the King’s Cross Academy School and the main high-speed rail-line into St. Pancras Station.
