Our role

Ashfold was commission by Colliers International to write a Construction Management Plan for submission to Southwark Council in support of a full planning application.

Project details

As the regeneration of Bankside continues eastward, 135 Park Street will provide contemporary workspaces and retail with improvements to the surrounding public realm.

With planning consent granted in December 2019, the new scheme will see the replacement of an 80s office block (fronting on to Emerson Street) and a Victorian warehouse (on Park Street) with a single new building, providing flexible workspace and retail units over 11 floors.

Designed by Squire and Partners, the new building will also work to enhance its surroundings. Publicly accessible amenity space and widened footpaths will surround the site. While office entrances will be located on Emerson Street, the new retail provision will include cafes and restaurants and is intended to animate Park Street and draw people to this area of Bankside. Landscaping has been designed to provide attractive dwell spaces with planting that will encourage biodiversity.

Constrained by the narrow streets surrounding the site, the demolition of existing buildings and subsequent construction of 135 Park Street will be carefully managed so as to cause minimal disruption.
