Awards: The Carter Reaches SECBE Finals – You can Vote!

We’re delighted that our project at The Carter, 11 Pilgrim St has reached the finals of the SECBE awards. To be held in London later this year, the awards celebrate a range of built environment projects across the South East. The awards ceremony takes place at the end of June 2024.

You have an opportunity to support the project and its achievements in the regeneration and retrofit category. Simply follow this link and click the button on the awards page to submit your vote. As well as the judges’ award, the people’s vote allows for recognition by anyone interested or involved with the built environment.

We’re really proud of The Carter and all it achieved. The project’s success focusses on the circular economy, reducing carbon and providing a longer life for a building that would have been easy to knock down and start again. Instead, the majority of the structure was retained. Sustainable lighting, heating and ventilation were added, along with a green wall. A timber-framed floor was added, and refurbished floor tiles rather than new were used. The project provided the client with a Cat-A standard building which came in under budget. It’s given the 90s building a new lease of life, fit for the 21st Century.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported us so far and to the judges for their time in the adjudication process. We look forward to finding out the results later this year! For more information on The Carter, visit the project page.
