Battersea Arts Centre wins at NLA Awards

The Battersea Arts Centre has been announced as the very deserving Overall Winner at this year’s NLA Awards. We’re happy to note that it also received the Community Prize.

Designed by Haworth Tompkins, BAC has a long history, with Peter Murray, Chairman of NLA, commenting that the building is “Phoenix-like – it had a fire that destroyed much of the building but it could have destroyed the whole organisation. The fact that it actually came out of that and the new or refurbished architecture celebrates that night makes it quite remarkable.”

Martin has been involved in a voluntary capacity as a member of the Capital Group, the steering group for the construction work, since 2014.
