Our role
We were appointed in May 2014, to work on the American School London’s new pool and fitness development, having provided support to a bid with TGA Building Surveyors. We provided the strategic project management and TGA are acting as the contract administrators.
We were responsible for finalising the appointment of ISG, overseeing a complex VE process saving circa 10% of the project budget and the first six months of construction. This included managing a claim for an extension of time from ISG, the discovery of faults in the existing building and establishing a formal reporting procedure for the school and the school trustees.
Project details
Completed in 2016, this project included the provision of a new pool and fitness building together with a new arts teaching block.
The American School London’s Pool and Arts Building development was particularly challenging as it is located adjacent to the existing school buildings, is largely being built underground and is surrounded by a hospital and synagogue. It is also being built over the main incoming Network Rail line into Marylebone station.
